Canada child benefit

Wildfires impact payments

Wildfires have delayed the delivery of a small number of benefit and credit cheques. If you are unable to access your benefit or credit cheques and require immediate assistance call us at 1-800-387-1193 or visit the delivery service alerts on the Canada Post website for updates on mail delivery.

Payments by direct deposit will be issued as scheduled.

Benefit recalculation

Most benefit and credit payment amounts are recalculated each July based on information from your tax return. Check your notice of determination (in your CRA Account or via mail) for your payment explanation or visit our webpage if your payment stopped or changed before calling us.

CCB application processing delays

We are currently experiencing delays in processing RC66 Canada child benefit applications. You can check the status of your application in your CRA account or on our Check CRA processing times web page.

The Canada child benefit (CCB) is administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). It is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. The CCB may include the child disability benefit and any related provincial and territorial programs.
