Saskatchewan Child Benefit
The Saskatchewan Child Benefit (SCB) is a tax-free monthly payment that will help lower-income families with the cost of raising children under age 18. This benefit will help lower-income working families stay in the work force. Benefits from this program are combined with the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) into a single monthly payment.
You do not have to apply separately to receive SCB payments. We will use the information from your CCTB application to determine your eligibility for both benefit programs. You (and your spouse) should file your 1999 return(s) as soon as possible. The information you (and your spouse) submit on your return(s) will determine how much SCB and CCTB you will receive starting in July 2000.
The SCB program is fully funded by the Province of Saskatchewan. For families living on reserve, benefits are funded by the federal government. For more information, call 1-800-387-1193 or, in Regina, call 780-8047.
