Failure to file Form 4031, Articles of Continuance (transition)
What are the consequences?
If you do not receive a certificate of continuance by July 31, 2017, your corporate status will be dissolved by Corporations Canada. If your corporate status is dissolved, you are no longer a legal entity and your charitable status could be revoked.
What are the options?
If your corporate status has been dissolved, we will send you a letter saying that your charitable registration may be revoked. To avoid revocation, you must send us a valid governing document or other proof that you are a legal entity (for example, a certificate of revival) within 90 days of the letter. We review all new governing documents to make sure they meet the requirements.
If you do not send us proof that you are a legal entity within 90 days, we will begin the revocation process.
