Line 479 – Provincial or territorial credits
If, on December 31, 2016, you were a resident of:
- Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, Yukon, the Northwest Territories, or Nunavut, use Form 479 to calculate your refundable provincial or territorial credits. Attach a copy to your paper return.
- Nova Scotia, use Form NS428 to calculate your claim for the Nova Scotia volunteer firefighters and ground search and rescue tax credit and enter the amount on line 479. Claim all other provincial credits on Form 428 to reduce your provincial tax payable on line 428.
- Prince Edward Island, use Form PE428 to calculate your claim for the Prince Edward Island volunteer firefighter tax credit and enter the amount on line 479. Claim all other provincial credits on Form 428 to reduce your provincial tax payable on line 428.
- Alberta, use Form T89 to calculate your claim for the Alberta stock savings plan tax credit and enter the amount on line 479 of your return.
- Newfoundland and Labrador, use Form T1129 to calculate your claim for the Newfoundland and Labrador research and development tax credit and enter the amount on line 479 of your return.
- Quebec, use the Quebec income tax return to claim your provincial credits.
Completing Form 479
Enter, on line 479, the amount calculated on Form 479 and attach the completed form to your paper tax return.
