Yukon
Form YT428, Yukon Tax, is used to calculate your Yukon tax.
Form YT432, Yukon First Nations Tax, is used to calculate your federal refundable First Nations abatement and Yukon First Nations tax credit.
Form YT479, Yukon Credits, is used to calculate your refundable credits.
Yukon Tax (YT428)
Tax rates for 2016
- 6.4% on the first $45,282 of taxable income, +
- 9% on the portion of taxable income more than $45,282 but not more than $90,563, +
- 10.9% on the portion of taxable income more than $90,563 but not more than $140,388, +
- 12.8% on the portion of taxable income more than $140,388 but not more than $500,000, +
- 15% of taxable income over $500,000.
Non-refundable tax credits and other credits
Yukon offers the following credits which further reduces your amount of territorial tax payable:
- Additional tax for minimum tax purposes - Yukon
- Adoption expenses
- Age amount
- Allowable amount of medical expenses for other dependants
- Amount for an eligible dependant
- Amount for infirm dependants age 18 or older
- Amounts transferred from your spouse or common-law partner
- Basic personal amount
- Canada employment amount
- CPP or QPP contributions on self-employment and other earnings
- CPP or QPP contributions through employment
- Caregiver amount
- Children's arts amount
- Disability amount (for self)
- Disability amount transferred from a dependant
- Donations and gifts
- Employment insurance premiums on self-employment and other eligible earnings
- Employment insurance premiums through employment
- Family caregiver amount for infirm children under 18 years of age
- Interest paid on your student loans
- Medical expenses for self, spouse or common-law partner, and your dependent children born in 1999 or later
- Pension income amount
- Political contribution tax credit
- Public transit amount
- Spouse or common-law partner amount
- Tax on split income - Yukon
- Territorial foreign tax credit
- Tuition, education, and textbook amounts transferred from a child
- Your tuition, education, and textbook amounts
Yukon Credits (YT432 and YT479)
Yukon also offers the following credits:
- Children’s fitness tax credit
- Labour-sponsored venture capital corporation tax credit
- Research and development tax credit
- Small business investment tax credit
- Yukon First Nations income tax credit
