You cannot claim the caregiver amount for a person who was only visiting you.

You have told us:

• You maintained a dwelling where you and a dependant lived at any time in 2016
• Your dependant is one of the following persons:
  • your or your spouse's or common-law partner's child or grandchild
  • your or your spouse's or common-law partner's brother, sister, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, parent, or grandparent who was resident in Canada
• This person was only visiting you
