Sustainable Development Strategies
At the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), sustainable development (SD) is part of the way we do business. Between 1997 and 2014, we prepared and implemented five SD strategies that focused on reducing the impact of our operations on the natural environment. During that period, we also established a solid corporate SD Program based on best practice and lessons learned.
The CRA's sixth strategy, RC4087, Sustainable Development Strategy 2014-2017, approaches SD in a way that integrates economic, environmental and social considerations into our operations, policies, programs, and service delivery.
Through the Sustainable Development Strategy 2014-2017, we are focusing our resources to pursue the following four goals:
- Goal 1: Reduced greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from operations
- Goal 2: Embedded environmental considerations in Crown procurement
- Goal 3: Improved sustainability in workplace operations
- Goal 4: Greener services
