A career at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as an accountant, auditor, or administrator makes sense. After all, the CRA manages Canada’s tax system and delivers benefits to qualified recipients. But this job category is sciences and engineering. Where does it fit in?
The CRA hires scientists in the natural and formal sciences, medical and health sciences, and agricultural sciences. Expertise is also needed in engineering and technology – from civil, electrical and mechanical engineering to information technology, environmental and industrial biotechnology and nano-technology.
These scientists and engineers play an important role in determining whether claimants qualify for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentives under a federal program that is designed to encourage Canadian businesses to conduct research and development in Canada.
