Client service representatives:
- give general information about registered charities
- give information on how to apply for registration and how to fill out the application (Form T2050)
- give information to registered charities on how to issue official donation receipts and how to fill out the annual information return (Form T3010)
- give guidance to registered charities on changing their legal name, purposes, activities, and more

Report suspected non-compliance by registered charities
If you have information that a charity may be non-compliant, please refer to the Leads Program website.
Lead information pertaining to a charity may include:
- conducting improper fundraising
- undertaking non-charitable activities
- providing false receipts
- providing private benefits to directors of the charity or third parties
- misappropriating funds
- lacking direction and control on activities carried out outside Canada
- operating an unrelated business
When submitting a lead on a charity, it is helpful to provide:
- the name of the charity
- the charity's registration number, if available
- detailed information to support your lead
- relevant documentation, if available
You can submit a lead anonymously, but if you choose to identify yourself, your identity is kept confidential. No feedback or updates are given once a lead is submitted. The Charities Directorate’s actions are only made public when they result in a charity being:

revoked
- annulled
- suspended
- penalized
