The Income Tax Rulings Directorate has made a commitment to maintain a well-educated, trained and experienced staff to deal effectively with the complex income tax issues that the Directorate handles. Rather than limit our workforce only to skilled income tax experts who have the flexibility to re-locate to Ottawa, the Directorate has opened satellite offices in tax services offices in two additional major cities.

Since January 2014, senior income tax rulings officers have been located in the Toronto Centre TSO. Beginning in September 2014, senior income tax rulings officers will be located in the Toronto North-Barrie TSO, the Montreal TSO and the Laval site of the Western Quebec TSO.

The Directorate expects that more staff will be added at these locations. Further, we anticipate that income tax rulings officers will be located in a TSO in western Canada at some point in the near future.
