Paul and Anna are on their way home from the mall and Paul starts thinking about taxes.

"If deductions were taken from my pay now, why were deductions not taken from that landscaping job we did in the summer?" Paul wonders.

Anna explains, "That was just casual work. We didn't actually have an employer. When you complete your tax return for the year, you have to include the money you made as income. You might have to pay taxes on it then."

"I have to complete a tax return?" questions Paul.
