Module 1 - What you learned

Congratulations! You completed Module 1.

So far you learned:

  • Deductions for employment insurance, Canada Pension Plan/Quebec Pension Plan and income tax are withheld directly from your pay.
  • Sales tax is applied to most of the goods and services you purchase in Canada.
  • Tax revenue helps fund the programs and services the government provides.
  • Taxes have evolved in the history of the world and Canada.
