Employee

Canada releases its EI rates each year in the fall. There is one rate for Quebec and another for all other provinces and territories. For the latest rates, go to EI premium rates and maximums.

Employer

The employer EI premium rate is not affected by the province of employment. The employer rate is 1.4 times the employee premium, unless the employer qualifies for a reduced rate.
