Progress Tracker
The Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) Progress Tracker service provides individuals, businesses, and their representatives with status updates on their files and enquiries submitted to the CRA, as well as target completion dates.
The Progress Tracker is available on the Overview page of both My Account and My Business Account.
Files that can be tracked
You can track the progress of the following files in My Account:
- T1 tax returns
- T1 tax adjustment requests
- Canada child benefit applications
- Disability tax credit applications
- Requests for relief of penalties and interest
- Objections
You can track the progress of the following files in My Business Account:
- GST/HST initial returns
- GST/HST adjustment requests
- Application for registration as a charity or registered Canadian amateur athletic association
- Registered charity information return
- Objections
- Requests for relief of penalties and interest (submitted electronically)
- T2 corporate tax returns
- T2 corporate tax adjustment requests
Only files that are in progress or that have been completed in the past 30 days will be displayed. More file types will be added to the Progress Tracker in the future.
File status and progress history
Examples of file status updates may include:
- Received - This status indicates that we have received your return/request, but we have not assessed it yet.
- In progress - This status indicates that we have received your return/request and it is being reviewed.
- Screening complete - For objection requests, this status indicates that the initial screening is complete, and your objection has a low, medium, or high level of complexity.
- Review in process - This status indicates your objection has been assigned to an Appeals Officer.
- Information requested - This status indicates that we have asked you to provide us with additional information in order to complete our review. As a result, we have revised the target completion date.
- Reply received - This status indicates that we have received your response to our request for additional information or supporting documentation.
- Completed - This status indicates that your return/request has been completed.
Target completion date
The target completion date shown is based on our published service standards and indicates the date by which we expect to have completed processing your file. The information provided is the same as what you would receive by calling the CRA.
