The Financial Statements – Agency Activities report $3,177.3 million as total Parliamentary appropriations used (Note 3 b shows the reconciliation to the net cost of operations). Three other items reported in the Financial Statements – Administered Activities are added to make up the total actual spending of $3,707.4 million reported in this section where the modified cash accounting approach is used: the Children's Special Allowance, $169.6 million; the Energy Costs Assistance Measures expenses, $357.7 million and the Relief for Heating Expenses, $2.8 million (part of Vote 1, Program Expenditures).
