What to do if you received a letter

Review your income tax and benefit returns and make sure that your income and deductions have been reported correctly. If you find any errors, you can correct your returns by asking for an adjustment.

If you would like to adjust one or more tax returns because you have found errors, send us a request for an adjustment. Submit your request within 45 days from the date of this letter to minimize the interest charged on any outstanding amounts. Even if we decide to conduct an audit, we will not start any audit until at least 45 days after the date of this letter.

To request an adjustment, see Request for adjustment and Voluntary Disclosure Program (VDP).

If you need more information on rental, business, professional, or employment activities, consult the forms and publication listed below. You can also call our individual income tax enquiries line at 1-800-959-8281 or our business enquiries line at 1-800-959-5525.
