Minister's Message
The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency was created to find better ways to serve Canadians, and I am pleased to confirm that we are pursuing this goal on a daily basis. This Summary of the Corporate Business Plan looks ahead over the next three years, and describes the objectives, strategies, and actions that will ensure the best possible service for our clients.
Our plan lays out four change objectives along with the strategies we are pursuing to improve our performance in terms of service quality, fairness, and transparency. Through these objectives, we will transform our core business, reform and renew our human resources and administrative systems, and improve management processes. We are implementing initiatives in all business lines that address the objectives of our change agenda, always with the underlying theme of providing better service to Canadians while maintaining a balanced approach to compliance.
We will press ahead with the implementation of the Customs Action Plan, and accelerate the transformation of our tax services, following the same process of consultation with our clients, stakeholders and staff that proved successful in customs. We will renew our commitment to client-centred approaches that clearly put the needs of our clients first. In addition, we will pursue a leadership role in e-commerce to reshape our services and programs.
I am confident that, with the enthusiasm of our employees, we will maintain the momentum generated in our first year as an agency and realize even greater progress in the years ahead, while ensuring wise investment decisions.
The Honourable Martin Cauchon
Minister of National Revenue
