PRPP annual information returns

As the administrator of a pooled registered pension plan (PRPP), you must file an annual information return with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for each calendar year by May 1 of the following calendar year. Use Form RC368-CA, Pooled Registered Pension Plan Annual Information Return.

The CRA has developed a joint annual information return with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI). If your PRPP is subject to a joint annual information return, you must complete and file Form RC368, Pooled Registered Pension Plan Annual Information Return no later than the date specified by OSFI for the fiscal period.

Although the CRA does not have a joint PRPP annual information return (AIR) with Quebec, the CRA has adopted the AIR filing date of the Voluntary Retirement Savings Plans Act (VRSPA) in Quebec to reduce the administrative burden of PRPP administrators meeting two separate filing dates. Therefore, if your PRPP is registered in Quebec, you must file Form RC368-CA no later than the date specified by the VRSPA.
