PRPP administrative procedures
The administrator must send the application to register the pooled pension plan, any amendments to the PRPP, and the annual information return to the Registered Plans Directorate (RPD).The administrator of a PRPP must exercise the care, diligence and skill of a reasonably prudent trustee to minimize the possibility that the registration of the PRPP may be revoked other than at the request of the administrator. This includes ensuring that all amounts paid into the plan and all amounts paid out of the plan are paid in accordance with the Income Tax Act and reported correctly.
For information on filing a PRPP contribution receipt return, see www.cra.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/slps/fnncl/menu-eng.html. The plan administrator must also ensure that all amounts transferred into and out of the PRPP are transferred in accordance with the Act.
