Non-Profit Organization Risk Identification Project

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is committed to supporting a strong non-profit community.

As part of its regular activities to promote compliance with Canada’s tax laws, the CRA conducted a three-year research project on tax compliance in the non-profit sector. The information gathered provides insights on how non-profit organizations (NPOs) operate under the provisions of the Income Tax Act.

The Government recently announced a consultation on NPOs as part of Economic Action Plan 2014. The Government will provide further details on this consultation in the coming months.

The CRA encourages you to learn more about NPOs at Non-profit organizations.
