Adding individual records
After you file your TFSA annual information return, you may discover that you need to send us additional TFSA records. If you have original records that were not filed with your return, file them in a separate original return. Do not combine the new records with previously submitted ones.
Note
Any additional slips that are filed after the due date may result in a penalty. For the complete penalty structure, see Penalty for failure to file an information return by the due date.
You can only send additional records by using:
- Internet file transfer (XML);
- Web Forms; or
- "File a return" option at:
- My Business Account, if you are the business owner; or
- Represent a Client, if you are an authorized representative or employee.
For common types of errors, see Table 1 - Error on individual records and Table 2 - Large scale errors affecting a large number of accounts.
