You will not have employees for a specific time period
Follow these steps:
At the prompt "If you have no employees subject to deductions for a specific period," press "3."
If you are reporting that you have no employees for last month, press "1" at the prompt. If you are reporting for another remitting period, press "9" at the prompt.
Rather than giving us a specific date, you can use this option to report that you have no employees with source deductions for a specific period of time.
Example 1
You are calling to report that you had no employees last month. If you are calling in March, you will be asked if you are reporting for February. If you press "1" at this prompt, we will automatically update your account to show that you had no employees with deductions in February.
Example 2
You employ a nanny and you will not require her service for July and August. She will be returning to work in September. Rather than make a July remittance payment, you want to tell us that you will not make remittance payments for July and August.
In July, you can contact us using TeleReply. When we ask you if you are reporting for last month, you will press "9." You will then be prompted to enter the last day of the period for which you will have no employees with deductions. In this case, you would enter the date 2016-08-31. If you are a regular remitter, we will then expect a remittance payment or a response for the month of September by the remittance due date of October 15, 2016.
