Help with Business Registration Online

Navigating through BRO using a keyboard

Avoid using the Back or Forward browser navigation buttons to prevent exiting your session.

Action Key(s) to press
Move to next question Tab
Move to previous question Shift + Tab
Expand a pick list Spacebar
Select a value from a pick list Up or down arrow
Select a radio button Up or down arrow
Select or unselect a checkbox Spacebar
Use the default navigation button in a text or radio button Enter
Carriage return in a multi-line text field Enter

How to pick answers in a list

Use either of the following methods:

  • up or down arrow keys on your keyboard
    • highlight your choice using the mouse
    • then click the left mouse button or press the Enter key

or

  • mouse wheel to scroll up or down the list
    • highlight your choice using the mouse
    • then click the left mouse button or press the Enter key

How to fix a mistake

Follow these steps:

  • place the cursor in the field where the error happened
  • read the error message
  • use the Delete or Backspace buttons to erase the mistake
  • type the correct information

How to print screens

You may print BRO registration screens for your personal use only. Reproducing in whole or in part the BRO registration screens for other uses is forbidden without the written permission of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

How to print screens if I use Microsoft Internet Explorer®

You may use either of the following methods:

  • click File
  • click Print
  • select As laid out on the screen
  • click OK

or

  • click inside the frame
  • click Print

How to print screens if I use Safari, Chrome, or Firefox

  • click inside the frame
  • click Print

How to end my session

Click the Logout button at the top right of the screen to end your session.

What if I mistakenly logout before registering?

If you Logout of BRO before a summary is displayed that confirms your registration information, you must start over.
