The Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Self-Assessment and Learning Tool (SALT) is designed to help you understand the eligibility requirements of the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program.

The SALT is divided into two standalone interactive PDF files that you can download on your computer. It can help you determine if your project includes SR&ED work, and which refunds and tax credits you can claim based on eligible expenses. No information is transferred to the CRA through this tool. To submit a SR&ED claim fill out Form T661.

For more information about the SR&ED tax incentive program, go to www.cra.gc.ca/sred.
