Macklin company, director, fined $10,800 for failure to file tax returns
Macklin, Saskatchewan, November 26, 2015... The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced that Collyne Bast, of Macklin, Saskatchewan, pleaded guilty on August 17, 2015, in Unity Provincial court, in her capacity as director of Blue Moon Oilfield Services Ltd., for failure to file 2009 to 2013 corporate returns. She pleaded guilty, on behalf of Blue Moon Oilfield Services Ltd., to a charge of failure to file corporate tax returns for the 2010 to 2013 tax years.
The Court fined Mrs. Bast $1,200 in her capacity as director for each of the missing corporate returns. The court also fined Blue Moon Oilfield Services Ltd. $1,200 for each of the corporate returns for a total combined fine of $10,800.
The court ordered Mrs. Bast to pay the fines by February 1, 2016. The outstanding returns have been filed.

When individuals are convicted of failing to file tax returns, in addition to any fines imposed by the courts, they must still file the returns and pay the full amount of taxes owing, plus interest owed, as well as any civil penalties that may be assessed by the CRA.
