Pay by online banking
Pay your individual taxes to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) through your financial institution’s online banking. You can also pay CRA business taxes online from a business bank account.
See Chart of available payment methods to view which payments can be made by online banking.
Be sure to provide accurate information to help the CRA apply your payment to the intended individual or business account. You can set up a payment on a pre-set date or dates with most financial institutions. If you need help paying your taxes through online banking contact your financial institution.
How to pay your individual taxes online
- Sign in to your financial institution's online individual banking service.
- Under “Add a payee,” look for an option such as:
- CRA (revenue)- current year-tax return
- CRA (revenue)- tax amount owing
- CRA (revenue)- tax instalment
- Enter your 9 digit social insurance number as your CRA account number.
How to pay your business taxes online
- Sign in to your financial institution's online business banking service.
- Under “Add a payee,” look for an option such as:
- Federal – Corporation Tax Payments – TXINS
- Federal – GST/HST Payment – GST-P (GST-P)
- Federal Payroll Deductions – Regular/Quarterly – EMPTX – (PD7A)
- Federal Payroll Deductions – Threshold 1 – EMPTX – (PD7A)
- Federal Payroll Deductions – Threshold 2 – EMPTX – (PD7A
- Enter your 15 digit business number as your CRA account number.
