Introduction

The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) wants to serve Canadians better. Better service is the reason for our evolution from department to agency. It drives the changes we seek and the strategies that support them. Since the creation of the CCRA, our organization has made significant strides in transforming the services we offer Canadians and improving our internal operations. We are well on our way in developing innovative ways of serving Canadians and designing processes that are tailored to our needs.

The Corporate Business Plan is the CCRA's road map for the next three years. The plan lays out our change objectives along with the strategies we are pursuing to improve our performance in terms of service quality, fairness, and transparency. In becoming an agency, the CCRA has also endorsed the view that first-rate service will occur only if the highest standards of excellence prevail within the organization. The plan therefore focuses on achieving management excellence through the improvement of our management systems and processes.

Under the continued leadership of the Minister of National Revenue and with the guidance of our new Board of Management, we now have a stronger sense of our future direction and a more focused approach to providing better service to clients. We will continue the momentum and be clear about our priorities, and we will account for our achievements through our Annual Report.

Expectations for the CCRA are high, but the continued dedication and professionalism of our employees will enable us to meet the challenges ahead.
