The Toronto Centre Tax Services Office serves scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) clients from Ottawa, East Central and Northern Ontario, Nunavut, Toronto Centre, Toronto East and Toronto North Eastern.

Free information seminars provide a general overview of the SR&ED Program, explaining the eligibility criteria, what expenditures are eligible, and how to file an SR&ED claim. Our industry-specific seminars explain the SR&ED Program's eligibility criteria as they relate to a specific industry.

These information webinars provide a summary of the eligibility requirements of the SR&ED Program. They are intended for technical, financial or accounting staff. Attendees will be taken through the eligibility criteria, qualifying expenditures, and the free services offered. There is no charge to attend. Pre-registration is required.

Explore IP

Canada's IP Marketplace is a tool for businesses, creators, entrepreneurs and innovators to discover intellectual property (IP) held by public sector institutions and leverage ground-breaking research and discoveries, stimulating collaborations that could help launch the next big innovation.

Designed as a searchable database, ExploreIP showcases an inventory of public sector IP held by government, academia or other public sector institutions. All Canadian public sector IP holders are eligible to have their IP included in the database.

Through ExploreIP, users can easily contact IP holders to discuss and negotiate a licensing arrangement. They can also use the database to locate and contact research organizations with technology relevant to a specific industry for potential collaborations.

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), a Special Operating Agency of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), is responsible for the administration and processing of intellectual property in Canada. CIPO contributes to Canada's innovation and economic success by providing greater certainty in the marketplace through high-quality and timely IP rights, fostering and supporting invention and creativity through knowledge sharing, raising awareness to encourage innovators to better exploit IP, and helping institutions compete globally.
