What does the cannabis excise stamp mean for distributors of cannabis products?

Transcript

You’re a distributor or have been authorized by a province or territory to sell cannabis products.

In this new market, it will be essential that what you distribute or sell is legal.

One of the best ways to confirm this is by looking for the cannabis excise stamp. All packagers must affix the stamp to every package of cannabis product, no matter how small the quantity.

When you see this stamp, you will know that your supplier is a Canada Revenue Agency cannabis licence holder and is meeting their tax obligations

The stamp, which is clearly displayed also forms part of the seal on the package that confirms it hasn’t been tampered with.

Your customers can also be assured that what they are buying is legal and that will add to their confidence in making a transaction with you.

Look for the cannabis excise stamp: proof that you’re offering a legitimate product.
