This is in response to your letter of December 8, 1980 and a subsequent telephone conversation with XXX of your firm.
We are providing an interim response to your inquiry concerning the Canada-France Income Tax Convention - 1976 and its application to the French islands of St.Pierre et Miquelon.
We are not yet in a position to give a final reply in this matter as the situation involves mixed policy consideration. Consequently, the matter is currently the subject of a detailed review by our legal advisers and tax policy section.
When our review is completed, we shall advise you of its outcome.
