Re: Ruling for 24(1)
This is in reply to your letter of July 16 addressed to our Finance Division concerning the invoice in respect of the ruling for 24(1). I have reviewed the hours charged on this file as well as the rate applied and find that there was no error on either matter. I also note that the hours expended were only slightly more than the average charged on rulings of this nature during the past 12 months. Since the time required on a particular request can vary depending on problems encountered, I regret that there is no basis upon which I am able to authorize an adjustment in the amount of the billing.
I trust that these comments will enable you to respond to your client's concerns.
