Review of Form T2097 Designation of Transfers to an RRSP for 1990
As requested on form T782 of July 24, 1990, we have reviewed form T2097 for technical accuracy.
Our review and comments in the attached appendix are based on the provisions of the Income Tax Act proposed under the July 1990 Draft Amendments and Bill C-52 which received Royal Assent on June 27, 1990. Unless otherwise indicated, the references to sections, subsections, etc., are to the Income Tax Act.

DESIGNATION OF TRANSFERS TO AN RRSP FOR 1990
Bullet 3
1. The word "spouse" in sub-bullets 3, 5, 8 and 9 includes a common-law spouse described in subsection 146(1.1). You may wish to indicate this directly above or below the sub-bullets.
2. Please note that the transfer of IRA amounts under proposed paragraph 60(j)(ii) in sub-bullet 9 can be made only with respect to payments received after July 13, 1990, the announcement date in the Draft Amendments of July 1990.
3. Since "single payment" and not "lump sum payment" is used in subsection 147(10.2) and in bullet 7 under DESIGNATIONS, do you wish to change "lump sum payment" to "single payment" in sub-bullet 7? Also, only "DPSP" need be stated in sub-bullet 7 (see bullet 1).

4. Since you specify form T2078 in sub-bullet 7 of bullet 3, should form T2030 be referred to in bullet 5?
5. To agree with the ordering of the bullets under DESIGNATION, bullet 5 could be placed before bullet 4.

7. Do you wish to add "(attach form T2030)" to each of these bullets as in bullet 7 with form T2078?
