Dear 19(1)
This is to request your concurrence in granting an extension of the sixty-month period of detachment under Article V(2)(a) of the Canada-United States Social Security Agreement in the following case:
CANADIAN EMPLOYER: 24(1)
WORK LOCATION: 24(1)
EMPLOYEE: 19(1)
The initial period covered by certificate is from January 1, 1985, to December 31, 1989. The extension request is for an additional period of four months that will end March 30, 1990. The combined period of detachment will exceed the allowed period by four months.
The employer has advised that plans are being made for the return
to Canada of 19(1) however, a delay in
completing his assignment will delay his return prompting the
request for an extension of coverage. The extension request is
do to an unexpected delay in the completion of the contract and
as

As the request is reasonable under the circumstances we are prepared to extend coverage under the Canada Pension Plan. We trust you will give this request favourable consideration.
