Use of Plan Funds to Pay Administration Fees
This is in reply to your letter of July 11, 1996, and further to our voice mail messages (Spice and XXXXXXXXXX) of July 24 and July 29, 1996.
This is to confirm that the Department is reviewing the position published in our technical interpretation of May 24, 1996 (document no. 961123). The position in question concerns the post-March 5, 1996 payment of RRSP or registered retirement income fund administration fees where the annuitant pays with funds from within the plan. Once the review is completed, either our directorate or the Department will communicate its conclusion in another technical interpretation or publication.
We trust the foregoing confirmation is sufficient for your purposes.
