This is in reply to your letter of June 9, 1993 concerning sections 7 and 144 of the Income Tax Act.
Thank you for your comments. The issue of whether or not section 7 rather than section 144 will apply where an employee profit sharing plan acquires treasury shares of the employer is currently under review. Your comments will be taken into consideration in deciding the issue.
