I am writing in reply to your letter of May 2, 1990, concerning your request for remission of tax on behalf of the shareholders of 24(1)
Remission request involve an extensive and fully objective review of the facts of the particular situation. The process ensures that each request receives proper consideration. This review procedure takes a certain amount of time.
I understand that Mr. Bob O'Byrne, the departmental officer who is handling your file, discussed the issues raised in your letter with you in a telephone conversation on May 29, 1990. In that conversation Mr. O'Byrne indicated that your clients' remission requests were under active review.
