REASONS FOR TAXATION
Barbara Tanasychuk, T.O., T.C.C.
[1] The taxation of
the Respondent’s Bill of Costs came on for hearing by way of a telephone
conference call on August 22, 2012. It followed the Order of the Honourable Justice Paris dated March
28, 2012, which dismissed the Appellant’s appeal, with costs to the Respondent.
The taxation of
costs proceeded thirty minutes after the appointed time, without the
participation of the Appellant. The Respondent was represented by Ms. Rita
Araujo.
[2] The Respondent’s
Bill of Costs was in the amount of $1,600.00 and represented amounts claimed
for counsel fees. The counsel fees were in accordance with the Tax Court of
Canada Rules (General Procedure) and are allowed in the full amount of $1,600.00.
[3] The Bill of Costs
of the Respondent is taxed and $1,600.00 is allowed.
