Dear Mr. Mavor:
At a meeting of the Tax Executives Institute in Montreal on October 29, Mr. C. N. Brennan gave us an excellent outline of the "workings" of his and your portion of the Department, and indicated your involvement with international taxation. XXXX and we are from time to time asked of the status of the Canada-Belgium Tax Convention entered into in 1958 but not yet, to my knowledge, proclaimed in force.
Any advice you might provide as to the status of this treaty, and whether it is expected to be proclaimed in force in the foreseeable future would be very much appreciated.
