In response to your letter XXXXX and the telephone conversation you had with Stan Loach of the office, we provide the following confirming information.
The facts as we understand them are that XXXXX has a surplus supply of excise tax paid wines currently made available to XXXXX. You wish to allocate some, or all, of this wine to your XXXXX facilities. You ask whether Excise Duties and Taxes Division would have any objection to the proposed practice?
Excise Duties and Taxes Division has no objection to the supply and serving of excise tax paid wines by XXXXX. However provincial legislation regulates the serving and consumption of alcoholic beverages. It is recommended that you contact the relevant provincial liquor authority to ensure your compliance with their legislation.
