This is in reply to your letter of May 2, 1989, wherein you requested our opinion in respect of a proposed transfer of property from an employee savings trust plan (the "Plan") to a segregated fund trust.
As noted in Information Circular 70-6R dated December 18, 1978, we do not give opinions in respect of proposed transactions other than as a reply to an advance income tax ruling request. We are enclosing a copy of Information Circular 70-6R for your consideration.
